Finally swell, and after our past drought of waves, I was like a rat up a drain pipe on the hunt for the best location to surf.
We are heading up to a place called Iluka, it's a Breakwall set up on the North Coast of NSW. I'm with Chase O'Leary, the famous Jonny Capilli and our photographer Mr Nick Bannehr. Going on road trips would have to one of the perks of the job - not knowing what is around the corner and the possibility of scoring good waves, keeps everyone enthusiastic. For me, I have to get a job done - a few photo's - as I have just recently signed with Turbo and they need some shots for ads and Zion wetsuits. To get a good session up the coast would be great!
It's funny these little car trips, stuck in a car with four dudes can bring out a array of conversations. The age group is diverse - Jonny is the oldest and Chase the youngest. The combination entails an array of diverse conversations, it makes the journey pretty comical and time goes by quite fast.
Meanwhile, I was riding shot gun, rapping to 50 cent and trying to act unbelievably cool - as you can see in the photo. We finally arrived at our destination when it was dark and the waves looked insane over the shine from the moonlight... how romantic. We booked into our motel and now, well I'm in my favourite place in the World, bed.
I can't wait for tomorrow, should be a good day!
